This role supports automated production equipment used to manufacture finished trim products by ensuring machines are properly set up, operated, and maintained throughout each shift. The Automated Machine Operator/Technician plays a hands-on role in operating production machines while troubleshooting any mechanical/electrical issues that arise. Success in this position requires strong mechanical instincts, comfort with automation, and the ability to respond quickly to production issues.
Job Responsibilities -
- Prepare automated production equipment for daily operation, including setup, adjustments, and product changeovers.
- Operate cutting, trimming, profiling, and packaging machinery to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
- Monitor machine performance during runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain consistency and throughput.
- Inspect materials and finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and visual specifications.
- Perform basic mechanical adjustments and troubleshoot electrical and process-related issues.
- Partner with maintenance personnel when advanced repairs or system troubleshooting is required.
- Perform routine care of equipment such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic inspections.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies or recurring issues.
- Assist with onboarding and skill development of less experienced operators as needed.
Job Requirements -
- 5-7 years of experience working with automated or CNC-style equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues independently.
- Comfortable reading work instructions, setup documentation, and technical diagrams.
- Prior exposure to structured quality systems or documented manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience using measurement tools to verify part accuracy and consistency.
- Basic computer skills, including interaction with machine interfaces or control panels.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and reliability in a production setting.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based operation.S
