Job Description
Automation Engineer
Design, implement, and support automation and process-control solutions across manufacturing operations. Identify opportunities to automate manual and repetitive processes to improve efficiency and consistency. Support and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, machine vision systems, sensors, and industrial control equipment. Integrate manufacturing equipment with enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, and production data platforms. Investigate equipment and process issues, determine root causes, and implement long-term corrective actions. Lead or support equipment installations, commissioning activities, upgrades, and process modifications. Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and equipment standards. Analyze production data and manufacturing metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement. Drive Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility. Improve safety, quality, throughput, capacity, and cost performance through data-driven decision making. Establish process capability targets, cycle-time standards, and operational performance benchmarks. Support capital expenditure projects and manufacturing equipment improvement programs.

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience in manufacturing engineering, automation, controls engineering, systems engineering, or a related industrial environment. Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMIs, robotics, machine vision systems, sensors, and industrial automation technologies. Experience working with MES, ERP, SCADA, manufacturing execution systems, or production data collection platforms. Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar technologies. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, equipment documentation, and technical specifications. Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and IT teams. Self-motivated individual who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and is passionate about technology and process improvement.
