Automation Engineer
Location: Bellevue, WA (On-site)
Role Overview
This organization is deploying a series of high-profile, automated and semi-automated production lines within the facility. The successful candidate will assume complete ownership of these automated systems, leading the installation, bring-up, and commissioning phases in coordination with integration partners. This position requires active, line-side presence to manage equipment uptime, control systems, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve high-volume production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering, or an equivalent combination of extensive hands-on technical experience.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of dedicated experience in equipment, automation, or controls engineering, including direct ownership of automated manufacturing machinery. Candidates demonstrating approximately 20 years of equivalent hands-on experience without a formal degree will also be considered.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in programming and debugging Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs directly. Proven experience with FANUC robot programming, machine vision systems, pneumatics, and robust safety systems (safety PLCs, light curtains, guarding, and LOTO). Strong capability in root-cause failure analysis utilizing structured methodologies such as DMAIC, 5-Why, Fishbone, or 8D.
