Description

Overview
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to support automation modernization initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities. This individual will play a critical role in implementing robotics, PLC controls, and advanced manufacturing technologies that improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities

Design, program, troubleshoot, and support PLC control systems.
Lead automation projects involving robotics, machine controls, and production equipment.
Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify automation opportunities.
Support robotic welding and material handling automation initiatives.
Develop and maintain PLC programming standards.
Assist with machine commissioning, startup, and equipment validation.
Partner with vendors and integrators on equipment selection and implementation.
Provide technical support for manufacturing operations.
Support Continuous Improvement initiatives through automation technology.
Travel to manufacturing facilities throughout North America as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Experience programming PLC systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Experience with robotics integration strongly preferred.
Understanding of metal fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of machine controls, sensors, drives, and industrial automation systems.
Strong troubleshooting and project management skills.
Approximately 30% travel
