Description
The main function of an automation engineer is to design, program, simulate, and test automated technology and processes in order to carry out specific tasks. The typical automation engineer is responsible for detailed design specifications and other documents in the process of creation.
Required Skills
Hands-on deployment of learned policies to physical humanoid/legged robots, including bring-up and maintenance.
Real-time control and low-level integration (ROS/ROS2, onboard compute, sensors/actuators).
Sim-to-real transfer with domain randomization.
Python/C++ with PyTorch inference on onboard hardware.
Robot safety practices around people.
Qualifications
BS/MS in Robotics, EE, ME or CS, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience with commercial mid-size or full-size humanoids.
