Job Title: Automation Specialist
Work Location: Hilcorp North Alaska, LLC
Pay Rate 1099: $95-$120
Requirements: ABB 800XA DCS
 
Only 1099 subcontractor applicants will be considered for this role.
 
Job Objective:
Design, implement and maintain Industrial Control Systems and associated HMI/SCADA infrastructure.
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Human/Machine Interface (HMI) development and support.
· Programmable Logic Controller system design, programming, and maintenance.
· Distributed Control System programming and troubleshooting.
· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial protocol communication networks.
· Engage and maintain alignment with facility technicians on troubleshooting and system support.
· Read, understand, and troubleshoot electrical prints and P&IDs.
· Mentor and train junior level Automation Specialists.

Qualifications:
· Four (4) years minimum Automation/SCADA experience.
· Ability to work a 12 hours per day, 14/14 day rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska.
· Strong ability in diagnosing and solving problems while maintaining patience, professionalism, and courtesy.
· Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
· Solid understanding of desktop computers, networking, printers, and general office applications.
· Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
· Proficient in the use of HMI, PLC, and DCS programming software.
 
Preferred experience:
ABB 800XA DCS, Allen Bradley PLC, Cisco switches, Microsoft Server maintenance Ability to navigate virtual machines on control network. Oil and Gas controls experience.
 
Education Requirements:
· Associates Degree or certificate of completion from a 2 year technical school that is accredited or any
equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill
to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
