Automation Technician | Buffalo Grove, IL

Schedule: 1 st Shift 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM | 2nd Shift 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
Duration: 12 Months contract

Job Summary:

The Automation Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, programming, and optimizing automated assembly systems, including robots, conveyors, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, and HMI issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems with robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, and pneumatic components
• Program and troubleshoot industrial robots such as Fanuc, Sepro, Yushin, or Wittmann.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
• Modify PLC/HMI programs and troubleshoot I/O and communication issues.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and production line changes.
• Maintain automation documentation and equipment records.
• Support Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
• 2 5 years of experience in automation, robotics, controls, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial robots, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with robot programming and troubleshooting.
  

Pay Scale-
Anticipated hourly pay range: specific range such as ($35/hr to $37/hr)
