Job Description

Position Title: Automation Test Lead
Location: Camden, NJ (Hybrid model, minimum 3 days/week onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract
 
Job description:
This role involves leading the automation testing efforts for an automotive IT project, focusing on developing and maintaining UFT automation frameworks, transitioning manual testing processes, and ensuring integration with CI/CD pipelines. The candidate will act as a liaison between various stakeholders and manage a team of QA engineers, while also overseeing end-to-end testing of automotive dealer workflows and ensuring data accuracy across systems.
 
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience using UFT/QTP, including advanced VBScripting, descriptive programming, and object repository handling.
  • Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and testing REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Deep familiarity with Micro Focus ALM / Quality Center or Jira for test execution and defect mapping.
Required Skills:
  • Expertise in UFT/QTP.
  • Experience in database and integration testing.
  • Clear client-facing communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Shift-left mindset in testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience testing automotive dealer management systems, dealer portals, or supply chain/logistics applications.
Role and responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automation frameworks using UFT for dealer portal, legacy mainframe systems, and API layers.
  • Transition legacy manual testing processes into high-coverage automated regression suites.
  • Ensure automated test scripts are integrated into the DevOps CI/CD pipeline.
  • Lead and mentor a team of onsite and offshore automation QA engineers.
  • Act as the primary onsite point of contact for business analysts, developers, and project managers.
  • Manage defect triage meetings and provide executive quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Oversee end-to-end testing of core automotive dealer workflows.
  • Validate data accuracy across integrations between dealer portal, ERP systems, and third-party logistics providers.
