Automation Tester (Playwright/JavaScript)

Summary -

• We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer with strong Playwright experience to establish a reusable frontend automation framework for the Vision web application and convert existing written test cases into reliable automated regression coverage. This engineer will define maintainable page models, fixtures, utilities, test-data patterns, and conventions that other engineers can use as the application evolves. The role focuses on stable browser automation, regression protection, framework reuse, and enabling the broader team to contribute tests without creating fragile automation.

Key Responsibilities -

• Design and implement a maintainable Playwright-based frontend test automation framework.
• Establish reusable page models, fixtures, helpers, authentication/session handling, test-data patterns, and common utilities.
• Convert existing written test cases into stable, maintainable Playwright regression tests.
• Design tests to avoid fragile dependencies on page structure, timing, or environment behavior.
• Automate complex Vision workflows and establish smoke, regression, and end-to-end suites.
• Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD pipelines and repeatable test environments.
• Develop and execute load and performance tests for critical web and API workflows, including representative concurrent-user scenarios.
• Document framework patterns and examples so other engineers can safely add and maintain tests.
• Work with frontend engineers to improve application testability and expand regression coverage as features and dependencies evolve.

Required skills -

• Strong professional experience developing automated browser tests using Playwright.
• Demonstrated experience designing reusable test automation frameworks, not only writing tests within an existing framework.
• Strong experience with page models, fixtures, helpers, test data, and maintainable test abstractions.
• Experience converting manual or written test cases into stable automated workflows.
• Strong understanding of techniques for avoiding flaky and timing-dependent browser tests.
• Experience designing and executing load or performance tests and interpreting response-time, throughput, and failure results.
• Experience automating complex, stateful, API-driven web applications and multi-step business workflows.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills and experience integrating browser automation into CI/CD.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across browser, API, test-data, and environment failures.

Nice to have -

• Experience testing Vue.js applications and complex enterprise or operational applications.
• Experience with authentication/authorization and real-time applications using WebSockets or SignalR.
• Experience testing mapping, visualization, WebGL, 3D, CAD, or digital-twin applications.
• Experience with test-data strategies, load-testing tools, and performance baselining for web applications and APIs.
