    Description

    The Service Department Lot Porter is responsible for supporting dealership service operations by greeting customers, managing vehicle flow, maintaining the service drive and parking areas, and providing transportation services for customers. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring vehicles are moved safely and efficiently throughout the service process.
     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Greet customers promptly and professionally as they arrive for service appointments.
    • Assist customers with vehicle drop-off and direct them to the appropriate service advisor.
    • Move customer vehicles safely between the service drive, parking areas, wash bay, and service department.
    • Maintain an organized and professional appearance of the service drive, customer parking areas, and dealership grounds.
    • Perform vehicle pickups and deliveries for customers as scheduled by the service department.
    • Operate dealership shuttle vehicles to transport customers to and from their homes, workplaces, or other approved destinations.
    • Assist with loaner vehicle check-in and check-out processes when applicable.
    • Wash, vacuum, fuel, and prepare customer vehicles for delivery following service completion.
    • Conduct basic vehicle inspections before and after customer pickups, deliveries, and shuttle services.
    • Communicate effectively with service advisors and management regarding vehicle locations and transportation schedules.
    • Maintain accurate records of customer transportation services and vehicle movements.
    • Ensure all vehicles are handled safely and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
    • Report any vehicle damage, safety concerns, or maintenance issues immediately.
    • Support the service department with additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to drive a variety of vehicle makes and models.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Previous dealership, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and entering/exiting vehicles.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to safely operate vehicles for extended periods.

    Working Conditions

    • Combination of indoor and outdoor work.
    • Regular interaction with customers and service department personnel.
    • May require early mornings, evenings, or occasional Saturdays based on dealership business needs.
