We need a leader to grow our Boise store
Western Auto Service is looking for a leader, not a placeholder. We're growing fast in Boise, and we need a Service Manager who will grow this store, develop every person in it, and take massive action every day to make the shop better than it was yesterday.
If you study hard, learn systems fast, welcome coaching, and run an organized, tech-forward front counter, this is your shop.
Location: Boise, ID · Type: Full-time, on-site · Pay: Performance based pay structure, when the shop wins, you win! We hope to compensate and reward our new leader with $150k+ annual earnings.

Western Auto Service is part of a small, family run group of independent shops and Boise is where we're investing in growth. We've invested heavily in marketing, modern technology and our people, and we car count has been climbing fast. We are very busy and have a wonderful team of advisors in our FOH, and highly skilled technicians in the back.

What you'll own
- Grow the store. Own car count, ARO, gross profit, margins and comebacks. Know your numbers every day and act on them.
- Develop every person in the building. Coach techs and front-office staff, hold daily morning huddles, regular one-on-ones, and help hire and train as the team expands. When your people get better, the shop gets better.
- Take massive action daily. Spot what's slowing the shop down and fix it today, not next quarter.
- Master our systems. Learn our processes and shop management system (Tekmetric) inside and out, then keep them sharp: clean estimates, accurate notes, tight parts ordering and inventory.
- Put technology to work. Use digital inspections, online scheduling, customer texting and AI tools to save time, communicate better and improve results.
- Own the customer experience. Greet, inspect, estimate and follow up so every customer leaves understanding their car and trusting us.
- Sell with integrity. Walk customers through inspections and build estimates that put safety and long-term value first.
- Run the shop flow. Dispatch work, manage the schedule, keep techs productive and hit promised times.
Who you are
You'll thrive here if you have:
- A leader's mindset. You've led a team, or you're ready to, and you take ownership of results.
- Serious organization (a must). You run a clean board, track every follow-up and never drop the ball.
- Up-to-date tech and AI skills (a must). You're fluent with shop management software (Tekmetric or similar) and digital inspections, and you already use Google workspace and AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude in your daily work.
- Coachable and collaborative. You ask for feedback, act on it and work as one team with techs and the front office.
- A learner's drive. You study your craft, learn new systems fast and put what you learn into action right away.
- 3+ years as a service advisor or service manager in automotive repair
- A track record you can talk numbers on: ARO, car count, gross profit, close rate
- Enough mechanical knowledge to explain a repair clearly and earn a tech's respect
- A valid driver's license
Bonus points for:
- ASE C1 (Service Consultant) or other ASE certifications
- Experience growing a shop or opening a new location
- Experience leading and developing advisors and techs
Most of all, you lift people up and lead with integrity. You'd rather lose a sale than sell a customer something they don't need.

- Competitive pay: Compensation will be a combination of a base salary plus GP commission, plus a monthly bonus tied to other KPIs. Top performers should earn $150k+.
