Automotive Technician

The McGrath Honda of Elgin Service Dept. is also run by a former Honda Master Technician who knows what the life of a technician entails, enabling easy communication between management and the shop.

Duties

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnose causes of any malfunction and perform repair
• Ability to handle a busy work environment
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
• Document work performed
• Attend factory- sponsored training classes
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• Customer service focused
• Focused on fixing repairs right the first time
• Ability to apply logical thinking and decision making based on procedures and guidelines supplied in the various task assignments
• Skill to perform numerous tasks as requested
• Basic computer skills

Experience

• Experience with working on variety of car brands
• 2+ years of automotive experience required
• Prior service shop experience is a must
• ASE certified is a plus
• Automotive Dealership experience is a plus
