As an Experienced Automotive Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our customers' vehicles. You diagnose complex issues, perform precise repairs, and maintain high standards of quality, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and our reputation for excellence. This position offers the opportunity to apply your advanced technical skills and problem-solving abilities daily, working with a diverse range of automotive systems and technologies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and automotive scan tools.
  • Performs comprehensive Engine Diagnostics to identify root causes of performance problems and failures.
  • Executes expert Brake System Repair, including inspection, replacement, and adjustment of components to ensure optimal stopping power.
  • Conducts thorough Transmission Repair, addressing both automatic and manual transmission issues with precision.
  • Identifies and resolves faults within vehicle Electrical System Diagnostics, repairing wiring, sensors, and electronic control units.
  • Repairs and maintains vehicle HVAC System Repair, ensuring proper climate control functionality.
  • Addresses issues related to Steering & Suspension Repair, restoring vehicle handling and ride comfort.
  • Performs comprehensive Preventative Maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations, to extend vehicle lifespan.
  • Utilizes specialized Automotive Scan Tools and software to accurately diagnose and program vehicle systems.
  • Communicates effectively with service advisors regarding repair needs, diagnostic findings, and estimated timelines.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols and company standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Mentors junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
  • Completes vocational training or an associate's degree in automotive technology.

Experience

  • Brings a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of successfully diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle makes and models.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Exhibits expert knowledge in Engine Diagnostics, Brake System Repair, Transmission Repair, Electrical System Diagnostics, HVAC System Repair, Steering & Suspension Repair, and Preventative Maintenance.
  • Proficiently operates and interprets data from Automotive Scan Tools and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Applies strong problem-solving skills to complex automotive challenges.
  • Understands and follows all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Communicates technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Holds current ASE Master Automobile Technician certification.
  • Obtains specialized certifications from major automotive manufacturers.
  • Shows experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and hybrid/electric vehicle technologies.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

  • Lifts and moves heavy equipment and parts, often exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Stands, walks, bends, stoops, kneels, and crawls for extended periods.
  • Works in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, fumes, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment requiring manual dexterity and coordination.
