Automotive Technician/ Maintenance Technician/Vehicle Testing Technician

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

• Respond to inbound calls and cases from dealership technicians, providing technical diagnostic direction using a defined diagnostic process.
• Research vehicle symptoms, diagnostic information, service procedures, and repair resources to help technicians troubleshoot and resolve complex vehicle concerns.
• Document case activity accurately and follow each case through to resolution.
• Escalate product concerns and technical findings to Quality, Engineering, and Technical Advisor teams as appropriate.

Deliverables or Project Scope

• Accurate, timely diagnostic and repair guidance that helps dealer technicians resolve vehicle concerns efficiently
• Complete, well-documented case records tracked from intake through resolution.
• Clear escalation of product concerns and technical findings to support quality and engineering improvements.
• A consistently high level of dealer satisfaction through professional, solutions-focused support.

Collaboration Tools or Platforms

• Microsoft Office Suite and standard PC applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
• Case-management systems for logging, tracking, and resolving technician cases.
• Dealer service information and vehicle diagnostic tools and resources.
• Phone-based technical support for inbound dealership technician calls.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and Technical Advisor teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on automotive repair experience is required, OR Trade School Certificate in Automotive internship or similar experience
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification; candidates without certification must obtain it within 90 days of their employment start date, and the company will pay for the first certification test.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures, with the ability to interpret diagnostic information and guide technicians through troubleshooting.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using computers, diagnostic resources, and case-management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dealership or OEM automotive hands on repair experience.
• Advanced automotive diagnostic experience.
• Familiarity with BEV, PHEV, and hybrid vehicle systems.
• Experience using dealer service information and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with Tier 1 automotive OEM products and technical resources

Additional Information / Requirements

• Knowledge of diagnostics and repair tools and Dealer information software
• Intermediate computer skills, including Word and keyboarding proficiency
