    Job Description

Avionics Technician - Build and test the electronics that fly on next-generation interceptors

    El Segundo, California | On-site

    Opportunity Summary

In this role you will build, assemble, and test the flight electronics for two interceptor product lines. You will fabricate wiring harnesses, assemble and rework circuit boards, and help integrate avionics into the vehicle and test setups. You will report to the avionics lead.

You will also work alongside mechanical, propulsion, GNC, and seeker engineers, and the hardware you build will go straight into test and demonstration campaigns.

    About Us

We are a seed-stage, venture-backed defense technology company building affordable, modular interceptors for air and missile defense, with surface-launched and space-based platforms in development. The team has already demonstrated autonomous intercepts and is moving quickly from prototype hardware into flight testing from our South Bay facility. We are a small group of engineers and operators who design, build, and test in-house, with a clear path toward scaled production for government customers.

    Job Duties

    • Assemble, solder, and rework circuit boards with surface-mount and through-hole components
    • Assemble avionics enclosures, test setups, and ground support equipment
    • Test harnesses and boards with multimeters, continuity and hipot testers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
    • Support engineers during board bring-up and hardware troubleshooting
    • Document test results and clearly flag issues
    • Install avionics and harnesses in the vehicle and test fixtures
    • Support ground tests, static fires, and flight tests through setup, checkout, and teardown
    • Follow build procedures and record build and inspection data
    • Maintain the electronics lab, ESD controls, tools, and component inventory
    • Recommend improvements to procedures, tooling, and fixtures

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree, technical certificate, or military training in electronics or avionics, or equivalent experience
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience building or repairing electronics or wiring harnesses
    • Strong surface-mount and through-hole soldering skills
    • Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
    • Comfortable with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and basic test equipment
    • Careful, organized, and consistent in workmanship and records
    • U.S. Person status required (ITAR) and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance

    Preferred Experience

    • IPC J-STD-001 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification
    • Military avionics or aerospace electronics experience
    • Aerospace or MIL-SPEC connectors and harnesses
    • Vehicle integration or field test support
    • Prior early-stage startup experience

    Why Join Us

    • Build hardware that goes directly into flight and demonstration testing
    • Work hands-on with engineers across every part of the vehicle
    • Support live static fires and flight tests
    • Grow your technical skills quickly on a small team
    • Early equity in a seed-stage company with a rapidly growing team
    • Mission with direct national security impact
