    AWC Support Staff - Bi-lingual, English AND Spanish
    Part Time
    Location: Springfield, Massachusetts,
    Program Needs:  Reliable support person for individual with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities in Spanish language family home.
    Pay: $20.00 per hour
    Schedule: Per-Diem position - Up to 25 hours per week in a cooperative schedule arrangement meeting the needs of the individual and family..
     
    ServiceNet, a leading Human Services agency, is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team.  As an AWC Support Staff member, you will engage in fun recreational outings, assist the person they support in skill-building opportunities, social situations and model appropriate behavior. You will help the Individual to meet their chosen goals and to become more independent and engaged with their community. Staff completes related records and summaries as specified. Staff must be able to transport person supported in their own vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided).

    Summary of this assignment:  This position will be assisting an adult male with daily living skills, find and explore interests and social engagement.
     
    Key Responsibilities: 
    • Engage, assist, instruct, motivate and monitor individuals in social/recreational, skill building and family directed activities.
    • Learn the individualized services of each person and participate in their routine implementation.
    • Accompany individual to appointments, social functions, recreational activities and other planned events as requested by the supervisor, to include providing transportation.  
    • Complete related records as required and instructed by contract or supervisor per standard format ensuring confidentiality and safe keeping of documents.
    • Respond and relate to routine inquiries, visitors, the Individual’s family, friends and allied staff or professionals as outlined in program standards or by the program supervisor.
    • Submit weekly or bi-weekly time sheets with summaries of activities in a timely manner.  
     Qualifications: 
    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Must be bi-lingual in English AND Spanish.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation/vehicle as required by program.
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 1 or more years of experience supporting individual with Autism in their family home, individual residence and home community.
