Utility / Material Handler

About the Role

The Utility / Material Handler is responsible for safely moving materials, supporting production lines, assisting with shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining overall warehouse and production operations. This role requires flexibility to perform various tasks, including operating material handling equipment, verifying inventory, and supporting production teams to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the facility
• Supply production lines with raw materials and remove finished goods
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
• Verify material counts and complete inventory transactions accurately
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and staging of products
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
• Follow all safety policies and procedures in the warehouse and production environment
• Support production teams with utility duties as assigned
• Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation
• Complete documentation accurately and timely
• Cross-train in multiple departments to support operational flexibility

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to work in varying warehouse or production environments
• Ability to operate material handling equipment safely for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer and inventory system experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
