B2B Sales Representative – Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning ServicesLocation: Birmingham, AL (territory includes Birmingham and Tuscaloosa)Job Type: Full-time, field-basedCompensation: $45,000 base + 10% uncapped commission+ quarterly signing bonusAbout Kitchen GuardEvery commercial kitchen is required by fire code (NFPA 96) to have its exhaust hood system professionally cleaned. Not optional. We're the locally owned operation here, and we built this company on the complaints operators had about their last hood cleaner: crews that showed up late or not at all, grease left behind, documentation that wouldn't survive a fire marshal. Nearly 200 recurring customers in 18 months, and a third route opening now.The JobThis is a hunting role. Roughly 80% of your week is generating your own pipeline. You will not be inventing the process — there is a documented playbook and a full video training library behind it.Book 8-12 hood system inspections per week by phone, email, and cold knockingRun the inspection: set your ladder, get on the roof, pull filters, photograph the ductwork and fan the owner can't seeBuild proposals in ServiceMinder and present them in person on an iPad — we don't email proposals, they die in inboxesClose 2-4 contracts per week. Typical cycle is about two weeks from first contact to signatureYou should know exactly what you're walking into: every restaurant already has a vendor. You are not creating demand, you are displacing an incumbent. That is easier than it sounds — when you show an owner a photo of what is actually sitting in his ductwork, the conversation changes fast.CompensationBase Salary: $45,000Commission: 10% of contract value on accounts you source and close, uncapped. Year two is where this job pays — you're collecting on last year's book plus everything you're closing now. It also means no chargebacks, ever. Two Things That Will Disqualify YouYou have to get a little dirty and get on roofs. You'll carry and set a ladder, climb onto commercial rooftops, and pull filters covered in grease. Comfortable at height, able to lift 40+ pounds. Field role, not a conference room roleYou have to build a target list on a computer. Not "drive around and see what looks open." We mean sitting down with a laptop, identifying every independent restaurant in a submarket, finding phone numbers and decision-makers, and turning that into a routed weekWho We're Looking For1-3 years of B2B outside sales or high-volume prospectingComfortable making a cold ask of a stranger, and resilient when the answer is noOrganized and self-directed — you own your calendarWorking fluency with a CRM, Excel, email, and an iPadThe strongest fit usually already walks into restaurant back-of-house cold every week: uniform and facility services, commercial pest control, food distribution, chemical and sanitation supply, or fire protection.
