Job Description

Cookies, Cakes, Croissants, and so much more - our Bakers are responsible for preparing delicious baked goods to serve fresh in-store or for our customers to bring home to enjoy! At The Cottage Grocery, our Bakers work as a part of our Kitchen team to prepare bakery products from beloved original recipes. This position reports to our Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities

• Review daily recipe assignments and follow recipes to ensure minimal waste and fully-baked products.
  

• Preparing and baking a wide range of bread, pastries, and other bakery products, including mixing and proofing ingredients.
  

• Package, label, and organize finished baked goods according to Cottage Grocery quality guidelines.
  

• Manage inventory of baking supplies.
  

• Maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment at all times. Note that we do have in-house kitchen staff that support all dishwashing!
  

• Contribute to the team environment by completing other tasks as required.
  

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers License (Company will pay for License and continued maintenance)
  

• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients and equipment, and work in a hot environment.
  

• Passion for baking and willingness to learn and comply with new recipes.
  

• Attention to detail.
  

• Ability to multitask efficiently and safely prepare recipes in bulk.
  

• Previous experience working as a commercial or catering baker is a plus!
