      Job Description

      Department: Bakery/Deli
      Reports To: Store Manager
      FLSA Status: Exempt

      Job Summary

      Oversees the Bakery and Deli departments, supervising staff, ensuring quality products, and achieving sales and profit goals while delivering excellent customer service.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Hire, train, and supervise bakery/deli staff.
      • Plan, schedule, and direct daily production and merchandising activities.
      • Order, receive, and inspect products and ingredients for quality and accuracy.
      • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and OSHA regulations.
      • Maintain accurate records, reports, and department paperwork.
      • Meet or exceed sales, margin, and labor goals.
      • Perform any duties within the department including baking, frying, slicing, decorating, and customer service.

      Qualifications

      • Previous supervisory experience in bakery/deli or foodservice required.
      • Strong leadership and communication skills.
      • Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements.
      • Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and merchandising plans.

      Physical Requirements

      • Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
      • Lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
      • Work in hot/cold environments.
      • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

      Scheduling Expectations

      Varied schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

      Success Indicators (KPIs)

      • Sales and profit goals achieved.
      • Labor costs maintained within budget.
      • Food safety and sanitation audit scores.
      • Customer service feedback.
