Baler Operator

Baler: Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio

Location: Cleveland, OH | Pay: $15.90 | Type: Hourly, Full-time

About the Job

Join us in making a meaningful impact in Cleveland, Ohio! Keep our textile recycling moving. As a Baler, you'll operate the baler and tie off baled textiles safely and to operating standards. You'll move 275-500 lb. gaylords from the warehouse to the baler area, and you'll move finished bales weighing over 1,130 lbs. to the shipping area.

Responsibilities

• Load the baler efficiently and safely
• Make sure only appropriate textile pieces are baled, and remove anything else
• Meet the daily minimum of 7 bales per 8-hour shift, or 9 bales per 10-hour shift
• Work with the lead aftermarket coordinator to maintain equipment, reports, and bale quality
• Keep the baler area, dock area, and warehouse clean, orderly, and safe
• Help run the dock area and transport materials
• Put trash in the right dumpster or compactor
• Wear required PPE and follow all safety policies

Qualifications

• Tow motor experience and certification required
• Able to judge the distance, speed, and movement of objects
• High school diploma preferred
• Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, and squatting, with frequent lifting or carrying up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifting of 51-100 lbs. Able to push or pull heavy objects, with or without mechanical assistance. Indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Safety toe footwear is preferred but not required.
• Safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing
