Senior SAP Functional Analyst / Lead – SAP Production Planning (PP)

Location: Berkeley, MO 63134 (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
Duration: 6-month contract

Schedule: First Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $85 per hour, W2 Only

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP Functional Analyst / Lead specializing in SAP Production Planning (PP) to support enterprise SAP initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment. This role focuses on implementation, configuration, and support of SAP S/4HANA Production Planning solutions.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP PP configuration, full lifecycle implementations, and cross-functional integration, and will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable SAP solutions.

This is a hands-on functional role supporting SAP projects across multiple teams and locations.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Functional Leadership

• Lead workshops and contribute to business process solution design.

• Collaborate with business SMEs, architects, developers, and system integrators to improve system functionality.

• Configure SAP PP solutions to support business requirements.

• Recommend and implement SAP best practices aligned with Clean Core principles.

Solution Design & Implementation

• Develop and maintain documentation including:

  • Business Process Documents (BPDs)

  • Process flows

  • Configuration Design Documents (CDD)

  • Functional Design Specifications (FDS)

  • Key Decision Documents (KDD)

  • WRICEF objects

• Translate functional requirements into technical design documentation.

• Coordinate development activities with technical teams.

Testing & Deployment

• Develop test strategies, test plans, and test scripts.

• Perform unit testing and integration testing for new functionality and enhancements.

• Support testing cycles and lead root cause analysis and issue resolution.

Project & Process Support

• Support project delivery using SAP Activate methodology and Agile (SAFe) frameworks.

• Contribute to project planning and implementation activities.

• Work with tools including:

  • Signavio

  • JIRA

  • Tricentis Tosca

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of SAP Production Planning (PP) consulting experience

• 4+ years of experience with SAP S/4HANA Production Planning

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA PP and QM modules

• Experience completing at least two full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations

• Experience working in large and complex enterprise environments

• Experience with SAP interfaces and integration

• Experience with:

  • User exits

  • Batch jobs

  • Standard SAP reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in SAP Production Planning functionality, including:

  • Material Master

  • Bills of Material (BOM)

  • Routing

  • Work Centers

  • Production Versions

  • Capacity Planning

  • Long-term Planning

  • Production Order lifecycle (creation through settlement)

  • Backflush processing

  • MRP Live and MRP Areas

  • Demand management and forecasting

  • Planning strategies and strategy groups

• Experience with FIORI applications

• Experience with PPDS in S/4HANA

• Experience with Quality Management (SAP QM)

• Experience with PLM and MES integrations

• Experience in discrete or repetitive manufacturing environments

• Experience integrating SAP modules including:

  • Sales (SD)

  • Procurement (MM)

  • Warehouse Management (EWM)

  • Finance/Costing (FICO)

  • Quality (QM)

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience

• Advanced degrees or SAP certifications (PP, QM, MM) are a plus

Additional Requirements

• Hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite in Berkeley, MO

• Must meet U.S. export compliance requirements

• Successful completion of onboarding training may be required
