Summary

Thompson Palm Springs Resort is seeking a creative On Call Banquet Server to join our team.

Two expansive pool experiences, immersive mountain views, the HALL Napa Valley Tasting Room, and over 35,000 square feet of dynamic indoor and outdoor event venues provide endless opportunities for unforgettable gatherings. The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing professional beverage service at banquet events, weddings, meetings, and special functions while delivering exceptional guest service. This position prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintains a clean and organized bar area, and ensures responsible alcohol service in accordance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for banquet and catering events.
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to guests.
• Set up, stock, and break down banquet bars before and after events.
• Verify guest age and ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all bar areas.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management.
• Handle cash and process beverage charges accurately when required.
• Support banquet operations and work collaboratively with the events team to ensure successful functions.

This is a nonexempt (hourly) role. The budgeted rate for this role is $16.90. This is the hourly rate for this position that Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual hourly rates will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Riverside County Food Handler Card in accordance with county requirements.
• Must have Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification.
• Previous bartending experience preferred, preferably in a hotel, banquet, or high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of standard cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage service procedures.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Must obtain and maintain any required alcohol service certifications and comply with all local regulations.
