Basic Function

Under the direction of the Dumas Bay Centre Manager, the Banquet Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving continental breakfast. On occasion, this position may also require preparation and serving of lunch and dinner. Staff must produce foods that are visually attractive and great tasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Preparing hot and cold meals in a timely manner.
• Preparation of multiple meals for more than one group at a time.
• Flexibility when dealing with customer requests.
• Communicating with the public by demonstrating a professional attitude as a representative of the City of Federal Way.
• Ensuring the safety of guests and staff at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to:

• Comply with all Safe Serve and HACCP programs and principles.
• Correctly and safely use standard kitchen equipment including, but not limited to knives, ovens, broilers, mixers, slicer, steamers and mandolins.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other food preparation techniques.
• Take initiative, make sound decisions, and troubleshoot problematic situations in an independent manner.
• Work calmly under pressure and time deadlines during peak and non-peak hours.

Additional Information

The full salary range for this position is $20 - $28.00 per hour. The typical starting rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

This position is not eligible for benefits.
