Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the operations of our vibrant bar. The Bar Manager will oversee all aspects of bar operations, from inventory management and ordering to staff training.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Shifts
- Execute all standard bartending duties during scheduled morning or night shifts.
- Maintain exceptional guest service, product knowledge, and adherence to Juliet’s standards.
- Team Oversight: Ensure the entire bar team (including other bartenders) consistently upholds Juliet’s standards for service, cleanliness, and organization; conduct regular spot-checks and provide immediate coaching as needed.
2. Administrative Duties (Sunday night or Monday)
- Conduct full bar inventory count.
- Order & Purchase: Submit accurate purchase orders for alcohol, wine, and beer based on par levels, sales trends, and upcoming events; coordinate with approved vendors and verify deliveries upon receipt.
- Review and process invoices for accuracy.
- Calculate and verify bar costs; reconcile discrepancies and report findings to management.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed prior to shift end.
3. Opening/Closing Privileges
- Hold keys and authorization to open or close the restaurant as needed.
- Follow all opening/closing checklists and security protocols.
Qualifications:
• Experience in bar management, with a proven track record in a high-volume environment.
• Deep knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and mixology, along with a strong understanding of the latest trends in the beverage industry.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with staff, customers, and suppliers.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in managing budgets, inventory, and cost controls.
• Experience in hosting and managing events.
• Certification in alcohol management and food safety, or the ability to obtain such certifications.
• A strong presence on the floor, with the ability to actively engage with guests and oversee service delivery.
• Creative problem-solving skills and the capacity to work well under pressure.
