Job Summary:

The Bar Manager is responsible for leading daily operations and cultivating an outstanding guest experience. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong operational expertise with a genuine passion for hospitality, wellness, and community engagement. The Bar Manager will serve as both a leader and ambassador for our space--creating an environment where guests feel welcomed, valued, and energized. Additionally, the Bar Manager will oversee bar operations, staff development, beverage programs, and the overall guest experience while helping shape a culture focused on service excellence, teamwork, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Create a warm, personalized, and memorable experience for every guest.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with our community-focused and wellness-minded culture.
  • Engage with guests proactively and professionally, building relationships and encouraging repeat visits.
  • Address guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop bartenders and support staff.
  • Lead by example, maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Schedule staff effectively to support service standards and operational needs.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily opening, service, and closing procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol service regulations.
  • Monitor cash handling, point-of-sale accuracy, and operational procedures.

Beverage Program & Inventory

  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory controls.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Help develop seasonal menus, specialty beverages, and thoughtfully curated offerings that support both social and wellness-oriented programming.
  • Monitor beverage costs and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality.

Corporate Amenity & Community Engagement

  • Support workplace events, happy hours, networking functions, and community-focused gatherings.
  • Partner with management to create programming that enhances the guest experience and encourages meaningful connections.
  • Contribute ideas that support employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and a vibrant social atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of bartending experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in hospitality, private clubs, corporate amenities, hotels, or upscale food and beverage environments is a plus.
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
