Job Description:
As the shift Lead at Coffee Commissary Glendale, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the barista team, ensuring that all beverages are prepared to perfection, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both customers and staff. This role is ideal for someone with a deep knowledge of specialty coffee, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor the barista team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, ensuring each drink meets Coffee Commissary’s quality standards.
- Maintain a deep understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment to ensure the highest quality in every cup.
- Train new baristas and provide ongoing coaching to improve skills and knowledge across the team.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure the café runs smoothly.
- Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a focus on enhancing the customer experience.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned according to company standards.
- Assist in creating and maintaining an inviting atmosphere in the café, including the setup and presentation of the coffee bar.
- Collaborate with the management team on menu development, promotions, and other initiatives to drive customer satisfaction and sales.
- Oversee the opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of specialty coffee.
- Previous leadership experience in a café or coffee shop is preferred.
- Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
