Position: Bartender - Location 5007 N. Shepherd Dr. Houston, TX 77018
Esther’s Cajun Cafe & Soul food is looking for an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Bartender to join our team! We’re seeking someone who is passionate about hospitality, skilled at preparing quality beverages, and committed to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Maintain knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and menu offerings.
- Prepare specialty drinks according to house recipes and presentation standards.
- Accurately manage customer tabs, cash payments, and POS transactions.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
- Restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies as needed.
- Keep the bar area clean, organized, and sanitized throughout each shift.
- Complete opening and closing bar duties.
- Work collaboratively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Promote featured cocktails, drink specials, and other offerings when appropriate.
- Maintain speed, accuracy, and professionalism during high-volume service.
- Follow all applicable health, safety, and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, drink preparation, and bar operations.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Dependability, punctuality, and reliable transportation.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Current TABC certification or the ability to obtain it as required for the position.
