Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Service
   

   • Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences.
     
   • Maintain a thorough knowledge of drink menus and specials.
     
   • Ensure compliance with TABC laws and guidelines regarding the responsible service of alcohol.
     

2. Customer Engagement
   

   • Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests.
     
   • Take drink and food orders promptly and accurately.
     
   • Address customer questions, preferences, and special requests with professionalism.
     

3. Compliance and Safety
   

   • Verify customer identification to ensure the legal drinking age.
     
   • Monitor guest behavior and consumption, refusing service to intoxicated individuals when necessary.
     
   • Adhere to all TABC regulations and workplace safety standards.
     

4. Bar Maintenance
   

   • Restock bar inventory, including liquor, mixers, and supplies.
     
   • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware and equipment.
     
   • Perform opening and closing duties, including counting the cash drawer and cleaning tasks.
     

5. Team Collaboration
   

   • Work closely with servers, barbacks, and management to ensure seamless operations.
     
   • Communicate effectively to manage guest flow and meet service standards.
     

Skills and Qualifications

• TABC Certification: Must have a current and valid TABC certificate.
  
• Previous experience as a bartender or in a related role is preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, mixology, and bar equipment.
  
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and busy environments with professionalism.
  
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic math skills for handling transactions.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
  
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items such as cases of beverages or kegs.
  
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
