BAS Controls Technician – Harrisburg, PA – $38.00–$55.00/hr + OT – Commercial & Institutional Facilities

A growing Building Automation & HVAC Controls organization is seeking an experienced BAS Controls Technician to support projects across the Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania region. This role focuses on DDC installation, service, commissioning, and system optimization for commercial, healthcare, higher education, and public-sector facilities.

Position Details

  • Title: BAS Controls Technician
  • Location: Harrisburg, PA (regional travel as needed)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $38.00 – $55.00/hr (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and configure BAS/DDC controllers and field devices
  • Perform point-to-point checkouts and functional testing for commissioning
  • Troubleshoot HVAC controls, communication networks, and sensor/actuator issues
  • Edit and update control logic, system graphics, schedules, and alarm strategies
  • Perform retrofit work, new construction start-up, and system integrations
  • Collaborate with mechanical contractors, facilities teams, and project managers
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service records, and test results

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with BAS/DDC systems
  • Familiarity with major BAS platforms such as Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, or Distech
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, control sequences, and mechanical fundamentals
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks protocols
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and engineered submittals
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and customer communication skills
