BAS / HVAC Service Technician
Location: Bismarck, ND
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Position
We are seeking a skilled BAS / HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team in Bismarck, ND. This position focuses on troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and building automation systems to ensure reliable operation, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in HVAC systems, building controls, or both, along with solid troubleshooting skills and a desire to expand their expertise in building automation technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Service and support HVAC equipment, including air handlers, rooftop units, VAVs, boilers, chillers, and associated controls.
• Troubleshoot DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, wiring, and communication networks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and equipment testing.
• Assist with BAS programming, system adjustments, and commissioning activities.
• Identify system performance issues and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Work directly with customers to resolve service issues and provide technical support.
• Document service activities, repairs, and system updates.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC service, building automation, DDC controls, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Schneider Electric, Niagara, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, control networks, or HVAC control sequences is beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
