Controls Project Engineer – Greater Queens, NY Area
Design, Program, and Deliver Advanced Building Automation Solutions
We’re seeking a highly capable and motivated Controls Project Engineer to support automation projects
from early design through final commissioning. Based in the Queens, NY region, this role offers a collaborative
environment, strong benefits, and the chance to contribute to high-performance automation and control systems
serving commercial and institutional facilities.
Position Details:
Title: Controls Project Engineer
Location: Long Island City / Greater Queens, NY
Salary: $75,000–$110,000 (DOE)
Status: Full-Time | On-Site | No Overtime Required
Ideal Candidate:
At least 3 years of experience as a BAS Project Engineer or Project Manager
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – Preferred
Hands-on proficiency with BACnet MSTP networks – Required
AX or N4 certification – Highly beneficial
Strong Visio capability – a major advantage
Detail-driven, proactive, and able to manage deadlines effectively
Comfortable working across engineering, field operations, and drafting teams
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Key Responsibilities:
Develop control schematics, sequences of operation, valve schedules, and equipment data sheets
Engineer system network architecture diagrams for BAS installations
Program BAS controllers, create graphics packages, and build system databases
Prepare and submit RFIs to clarify design and construction documents
Select control components and integrate compatible third-party devices
Collaborate with drafting staff to assemble complete submittal packages
Write BACnet code to support custom automation sequences
Support startup, system checkout, and commissioning activities
Oversee development of O&M manuals and provide onsite project support
Maintain project timelines and ensure critical milestones are achieved
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $75,000–$110,000 (DOE)
