The Katherine Thomas High school program serving students with special needs is seeking to hire a full-time Behavior Program Specialist. This is an 11 month position to start as soon as possible. This position will provide in cooperation with the Senior Social Worker, other high school administrators and senior clinical staff, the development, implementation, and monitoring of high school behavior management techniques.
The Behavior Program Specialist will provide behavior intervention and behavior management training and feedback to all high school staff; will be responsible for data collection and analysis; will monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and the enforcement of pertinent policies and procedures; and will be responsible for the organization and updating of associated records and documentation.
Responsibilities willalso include:
Implementation of student discipline policies and plans
Training and supporting staff in regard to effective behavior management
Maintaining parent communication
Collecting, analyzing and providing all behavior management data and statistics
Collaborating with school social workers
Working as part of the school’s behavior management team

Requirements for the Behavior Program Specialist include:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, social work, special education, or a closely related field
At least 5 years of experience working in special education with students with learning disabilities and/or autism
At least two years of experience implementing PBIS or other positive behavior intervention programs.
Additional experience with implementing bullying prevention programs and conducting staff training in behavior management techniques preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form using positive interpersonal skills
Ability to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management
Ability to develop and provide training related to effective behavior management
Ability to effectively lead/facilitate group processes
Be highly collaborative with strong problem solving and team building skills
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, to problem solve, to keep accurate records and analyze data, and to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
