    Job Description

    About Empowering Pathways 365

Empowering Pathways 365 (EP365) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the power of sports. Our inclusive programs — including basketball, soccer, fitness, dance, and sports camps — are offered across multiple locations throughout the Inland Empire. We believe every individual deserves the opportunity to live a fun, active, and fulfilling life, and our team makes that possible every single day.

    Position Overview

EP365 is seeking passionate and dedicated Behavior Support Staff to provide direct behavioral support during our inclusive sports programs. This is a physically active, community-based role working across multiple locations and a variety of sports programs. You may support clients on a 1:1 basis or within groups of up to 5 participants, depending on the individual's needs and their Individual Service Plan (ISP).

This role does not provide ABA therapy. It focuses on behavior support within a recreational and community-based sports environment. Patience, compassion, and a genuine heart for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are essential to success in this position.

This is an exciting opportunity to give back to our community and help others live a fun and fulfilling life!

    Key Responsibilities

    Participant Support

    •       Provide direct behavior support to participants during inclusive sports sessions

    •       Support emotional regulation, transitions, and positive group participation

    •       Utilize person-centered and trauma-informed behavior support strategies

    •       Ensure participant safety and respond appropriately to behavioral concerns

    •       Support clients 1:1 or in groups of up to 5 based on individual needs

    Collaboration & Program Support

    •       Partner closely with sports trainers to support inclusive participation

    •       Model professional boundaries and appropriate communication with participants and families

    •       Support staff and volunteers in understanding participant needs and accommodations

    •       Uphold EP365 policies including confidentiality, safety, and incident reporting

    •       Complete incident documentation and follow-up as directed by program leadership

    Qualifications

    •       Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

    •       Genuine heart and passion for supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities

    •       Ability to work in a physically active environment across various sports programs and multiple locations

    •       Strong patience, compassion, and person-centered approach to support

    •       Ability to work both independently (1:1) and within group settings (up to 5 participants)

    •       Dependable, punctual, and a committed team player

    Requirements

    What We're Looking For

    •    Experience supporting individuals with IDD in a care, educational, recreational, or behavioral setting

    •    Familiarity with behavior support strategies, person-centered approaches, and ISP/IPP goals

    •    Adaptable and comfortable working across different sports and recreational activities

    •    Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented — documentation matters here

    •    Warm, encouraging presence with participants — patience and positivity are non-negotiable

    •    DDS training completed or willingness to complete prior to first session

    •    Active DOJ/FBI background clearance — required before any client contact

    •    CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 30 days

    Benefits

    Why EP365

    •    Competitive pay: $25–$30/hour depending on experience

    •    Flexible, part-time schedule built around program session times

    •    Work in active, dynamic environments — adaptive sports, recreation, and movement-based programming

    •    Join a growing, mission-driven team that genuinely cares about the community it serves

    •    Clear path to growth — strong BSS performers are considered first for Lead BSS opportunities

    •    Be part of something visible: you will see the impact of your work every single session
