Build a Career Where Your Work Actually Matters

At Family Applied Behavioral Services (FABS), our Behavior Technicians work directly with children and families to help build communication, independence, social, and everyday life skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

We believe great outcomes start with great people.

That means supporting our technicians with strong BCBA supervision, hands-on training, opportunities to grow, and a workplace where employees are treated like part of the team—not just another person on the schedule.

Already a CBT or RBT? We'd love to meet you.

Interested in ABA but not certified yet? We still want to hear from you. We can provide training and help qualified candidates work toward becoming a Washington State Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) and/or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).

What You'll Do

As a Behavior Technician, you will provide 1:1 ABA therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

You'll work directly with clients to:

  • Teach communication, social, play, self-help, and daily living skills
  • Implement individualized treatment programs developed by a BCBA
  • Collect data and document client progress
  • Help clients build independence in meaningful, everyday activities
  • Work collaboratively with BCBAs, other technicians, and families
  • Support clients who may engage in challenging behaviors, including aggression, self-injury, property destruction, elopement, or tantrums
Services may take place in our West Olympia clinic, clients' homes, or community settings depending on the client's treatment plan.

What We're Looking For

You don't need years of ABA experience to be a great fit for FABS.

We're looking for people who are:
  • Dependable and consistent
  • Patient, compassionate, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable working directly with children and families
  • Able to receive feedback and work as part of a clinical team
  • Comfortable remaining calm during challenging situations
  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass required background checks
  • Able to reliably travel to assigned work locations
Experience We Love — But Don't Require

Experience in any of the following is a plus:
  • ABA or behavioral health
  • RBT or Washington State CBT certification
  • Special education or paraeducator work
  • Autism or developmental disability services
  • Childcare, teaching, coaching, or mentoring
  • Psychology, education, social work, or related coursework
  • CPR/BLS certification
No ABA experience? Don't automatically count yourself out.

For the right candidate, attitude, reliability, willingness to learn, and the ability to connect with our clients can matter just as much as previous ABA experience.

Pay & Growth

Starting pay: $23-$30/hour, depending on experience, certification, education, and qualifications.

Opportunities for continued advancement may include:
  • CBT/RBT certification
  • Ongoing BCBA supervision and clinical training
  • Performance-based raises or bonuses
  • Student Behavior Analyst (SBA) opportunities
  • Growth toward BCBA or other leadership positions for employees pursuing careers in ABA
Benefits
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Part-time with opportunities to grow into full-time based on client and employee availability
  • 32+ hours considered full-time
  • Paid drive time between clients
  • Flexible PTO for eligible full-time employees
  • Health insurance for eligible full-time employees
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • Direct supervision and mentorship from experienced BCBAs
  • Optional weekend availability
  • Opportunities for advancement within FABS
Why FABS?

FABS is a locally owned ABA company serving children and families throughout Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties.

We're focused on providing high-quality, ethical ABA—not simply filling schedules or maximizing billable hours.

We want employees who care about the work they do, and in return, we want to build a workplace where those employees are supported, respected, and given opportunities to grow.

If you're an experienced RBT/CBT looking for a better team—or someone interested in starting a career in ABA—we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and tell us a little about yourself and why you're interested in working with children and families.
