About the Role
The BT Teacher is a flexible instructional and behavioral support professional who serves as both a classroom teacher and behavior support specialist based on the needs of the center. This position provides direct behavioral support to children while also assisting classroom teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment.The BT Teacher is expected to understand and implement the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum, support kindergarten readiness initiatives, and serve as a classroom resource by modeling effective teaching strategies and positive behavior management techniques.Based on business needs, the BT Teacher may be assigned to different classrooms, provide one-on-one behavioral support, assist with classroom instruction, or be utilized in classroom ratios in accordance with state licensing regulations.
What You'll Do
Behavioral Support
Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as directed.
Provide one-on-one or small-group behavioral support.
Utilize positive behavior support and de-escalation strategies.
Collect behavioral data and complete required documentation.
Support children in developing social, emotional, communication, and self-regulation skills.
Classroom Teaching
Understand and implement the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum.
Assist with lesson planning and daily classroom activities.
Lead whole-group and small-group instruction when needed.
Support kindergarten readiness through intentional teaching practices.
Maintain active engagement with all children throughout the day.
Teacher Coaching & Support
Serve as a classroom resource for teachers by modeling best practices.
Coach teachers on positive behavior supports and effective classroom management strategies.
