Comprehensive Employee Benefits: Full-Time employees are eligible for various plans for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Job SummaryLab assistants are responsible for all aspects of collection and processing of biological specimens for clinical laboratory testing while maintaining the Mission and Values of the Gateway Regional Medical Center. Position Qualifications/Education /Experience:Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.Must display ability to read and understanding written data and medical terminology.Must possess good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all age groups.Must demonstrate the ability to perform all specimen processing functionalities.Data entry skills are required.Order and report distribution skills are essential.Professional customer service skills and positive attitude required.Must display ability to learn and retain policy, procedure, and computer training.Assists with maintaining laboratory operations and performs other tasks as necessary to ensure continuity of patient care.Multitasking skills required.Licenses/Certificates:Board accredited phlebotomy certification preferred. Medical assistant certification/registration acceptable.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers certification required within 3 months of hire. Employee is responsible for obtaining certification at their own expense.
