    Job Summary
    The Bilingual Receptionist is the first person everyone sees as they enter Cristo Rey. Every patron, employee, or volunteer should be greeted kindly upon entrance and directed to the correct department. The Bilingual Receptionist will handle and transfer all incoming calls, schedule appointments for legal aid, and present a positive and friendly attitude toward all people entering Cristo Rey.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Greet all persons entering Cristo Rey Community Center and direct people to the appropriate offices
    • Appropriately screen all persons entering the building
    • Fill out paperwork for clients needing access to the clothing closet; log visits in software
    • Accept donations and explain policies on acceptable donations; write receipts and deliver any cash donations immediately to the Finance Department
    • Answer the telephones and transfer calls as necessary
    • Schedule all appointments for free legal aid and share the appointment schedule with the appropriate lawyer for the week
    • Ensure all volunteers, community service workers, and visitors sign in and out on the respective logs
    • Responsible for all opening and closing procedures, including unlocking and locking the building at the appropriate times
    • Maintain confidential records
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Preferred 1 year receptionist experience
    •  
    •  Experience: Bilingual – English and Spanish
    • Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred
    • Accurate and detail-oriented
    • Motivated self-starter, with excellent communication skills and a high level of integrity
    • Strong organizational skills

    Work Environment & Physical Demands
    • This position is on-site and may not be eligible for remote work
    • Attendance at occasional meetings or events outside regular business hours is required
    • The role involves working with sensitive or potentially traumatic information and direct interaction with individuals or families in crisis
    • Physical requirements include frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; talking, bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds
    • Vision requirements include close-up work, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
    • The work environment may involve varying degrees of physical discomfort and occasional loud noise
    • Occasional driving, potentially with Clients, during the workday may be needed for operational purposes
