About the Billing and Accounting Supervisor Role

The Billing and Accounting Supervisor will help oversee daily client billing and accounting activities for a collaborative, experienced team. This position will directly supervise several billing professionals while remaining actively involved in complex billing matters.

This role was created to support continued growth and strengthen the team’s day-to-day operations. The Billing and Accounting Supervisor will serve as a resource for team members, internal stakeholders, and business leaders while helping maintain accurate, timely, and efficient billing processes.

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support a team of client accounting and billing professionals.

  • Oversee monthly billing activities and ensure invoices are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Review complex billing arrangements, account activity, adjustments, and supporting documentation.

  • Partner with internal professionals to resolve billing questions and address client account concerns.

  • Monitor workloads, deadlines, and service levels across the assigned team.

  • Assist with training, performance feedback, and the development of consistent procedures.

  • Identify opportunities to improve billing workflows, reporting, and internal controls.

  • Provide additional hands-on support during high-volume billing periods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • Approximately 8 or more years of client accounting, professional billing, or related experience.

  • Experience working within a large Professional Services or Legal Services environment.

  • At least 2 years of experience supervising, mentoring, or leading billing professionals.

  • Experience managing complex billing requirements and high-volume deadlines.

  • Familiarity with a professional-services billing or financial management platform.

  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to provide additional availability during critical year-end billing periods.
