Hooks, Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Appeals Specialist to join our growing Billing Department. This position plays a critical role in maximizing reimbursement by managing insurance claim denials, preparing appeal submissions, and ensuring accurate and timely resolution of billing issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and written communication skills. This individual thrives in both independent and collaborative environments, can effectively prioritize competing deadlines, and maintains exceptional attention to detail while working in a fast-paced setting.Responsibilities Review denied claims or underpaid claimsPrepare and submit appeals with supporting documentationResearch payer policies and denial reasonsTrack appeal statuses and follow up with payersCommunicate with the Billing Manager to gather needed informationMaintain accurate documentation in billing systemsAudit clients to ensure appeals are handled promptlyQualifications 1+ year experience in law office billing, claims, or appealsStrong written communication skillsAbility to manage deadlines and work independentlyKnowledge of denial codes & payer guidelines (preferred)Auditing skills (strongly preferred)Must reside in the Southern Nevada area, as this position is in the officeCompensation Compensation: $45,000+ annually salary#J-18808-Ljbffr
