Billing Coordinator

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

A highly respected law firm in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to join its growing finance team. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process monthly legal billing for multiple attorneys and practice groups

  • Generate prebills and finalize invoices in accordance with client billing guidelines

  • Review billing entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engagement terms

  • Edit and revise billing narratives as directed by attorneys

  • Submit electronic invoices through various e-billing platforms

  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices, and client inquiries

  • Maintain billing rates, client matter information, and billing records within the firm's accounting system

  • Monitor aged accounts receivable and assist with collections efforts as needed

  • Generate billing and financial reports for attorneys and management

  • Ensure adherence to client-specific billing requirements and outside counsel guidelines

  • Partner with attorneys, legal staff, and accounting team members to support billing operations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of legal billing experience within a law firm environment

  • Prior experience processing attorney prebills and client invoices

  • Strong understanding of legal billing practices and e-billing platforms

  • Experience working with billing and accounting software commonly used in law firms

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring billing deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional demeanor with a client-service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Elite, Aderant, or similar legal billing software

  • Exposure to collections and accounts receivable processes

  • Knowledge of client billing guidelines and electronic invoice submission systems

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range is $80,000.00-$95,000.00 annually
