Billing Specialist

Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Max Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
Employment Type: Contract

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join a transportation and logistics team in Charlotte, NC.

In this role, you will review and analyze carrier freight bills, identify potential errors and duplicate charges, resolve billing discrepancies, and facilitate accurate and timely customer billing.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze carrier freight bills for accuracy.

• Identify and resolve billing errors and duplicate charges.

• Communicate with internal departments and external sources to resolve outstanding issues.

• Coordinate with transportation providers to obtain required billing documentation.

• Address issues preventing customer orders from being billed.

• Maintain quality and service levels while resolving billing tasks.

• Help improve billing cycle times and overall process efficiency.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in audit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, load planning, or transportation/logistics.

• Experience with Microsoft Office.

• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to review information carefully and maintain accurate documentation.

Preferred:

• Associate degree in Business, Transportation, or Logistics, or equivalent experience.

• Previous freight billing, invoice auditing, or transportation billing experience.
