Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. BIM Modeler to support electrical construction projects through accurate and efficient Building Information Modeling (BIM) production. This role is responsible for developing detailed Revit models, creating project documentation, supporting coordination efforts, and ensuring deliverables meet established BIM standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Revit experience, a strong understanding of electrical drafting and construction documentation, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate BIM models for electrical construction projects.
  • Perform all core responsibilities of a BIM Modeler I.
  • Develop and modify Revit Families based on project requirements and company standards.
  • Model and document assigned project scopes efficiently and accurately.
  • Incorporate field conditions, layouts, and project details into Revit models.
  • Lead modeling efforts for assigned project areas.
  • Set up Revit views, view templates, sheets, schedules, and filters according to BIM standards.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and track modeling progress.
  • Support coordination efforts with other trades through 3D modeling and collaboration.
  • Import and manage project information including spreadsheets, images, photos, and other reference materials within Revit.
  • Follow BIM workflows, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information, project data, and proprietary materials.
  • Perform additional BIM and documentation tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of BIM modeling, electrical drafting, or related construction design experience.
  • Experience with electrical symbols, drafting conventions, and construction documentation standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM processes.
  • Ability to create and manipulate:
    • Revit views
    • Browser structures
    • Sheets
    • Schedules
    • Filters
    • Families
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D construction drawings, including:
    • One-line diagrams
    • Lighting schedules
    • Panel schedules
    • Feeder schedules
  • Ability to work within Revit work-sharing environments.
  • Strong understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
  • Experience in electrical construction or MEP environments.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Bluebeam
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud products
    • Navisworks
    • Other BIM coordination tools
