Bishop Watterson High School Long-Term Substitute School Counselor Catholic Preferred but Not Required Bishop Watterson High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute School Counselor to serve students in grades 10–12 during Quarters 2 and 3 of the 2026 - 2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive school counseling services that support students' social / emotional, academic, college, and career development. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and administrators in a faith-centered learning environment. Responsibilities include: - Provide individual counseling and support for students experiencing social and emotional concerns.
- Assist students with academic planning, course selection, graduation readiness, and monitoring academic progress.
- Guide students through college and career exploration, post-secondary planning, and the college application process.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside professionals to support student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with school policies and professional standards.
- Participate in counseling department initiatives and school activities as needed.
Qualifications: - Valid School Counselor Licensure.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with high school students, families, and colleagues.
- Previous high school counseling experience is preferred.
- Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
- Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training
