Description & Requirements

Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) delivers independent, data-driven research and interactive datasets integrated into the Bloomberg Terminal, helping investment professionals make decisions faster. With 500+ research professionals, BI provides company, credit, industry and strategy research across major global markets, covering 135+ industries and 2,000+ companies, including perspectives on company fundamentals as well as government policy, litigation and ESG. BI combines analyst expertise with interactive data, proprietary models and emerging technologies, including AI, to deliver faster, deeper and more differentiated research. Our research and datasets are delivered through curated Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks, with underlying data typically one click away, drawing on proprietary Bloomberg sources and 600+ data contributors.

What's in it for you:

BI Associate Analyst - Credit Strategy: BI is seeking an Associate to support Senior Strategists in the US. As a BI Credit Strategy Associate, the right candidate will be interested in corporate credit markets, including investment grade, high yield and leveraged loans, and will directly support our Credit Strategists in the AMER region. The right candidate will be tasked with sourcing, overseeing and generating data and insights based on a mix of fundamental and quantitative approaches.

You will have a steep learning curve with great exposure to the market experts in Bloomberg Intelligence. The successful candidate will have familiarity with the Microsoft suite of tools, and ideally the Bloomberg terminal. Strong coding skills, including Python, and knowledge of statistics are essential.

We'll trust you to:

  • Actively contribute to the team's daily research activities (i.e. data aggregation and analysis, modeling, written research, idea generation)
  • Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize the results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives that communicate the story behind the data
  • Conceptualize, construct and maintain research dashboards
  • Help to identify, support and maintain critical data and functionality on the Bloomberg terminal
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituencies
  • Interact regularly with clients via our online messaging systems, telephone and client visits
  • Participate in department-wide special projects

You need to have:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in a quantitative field
  • Legal authorization to work full-time in the United States and will not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident/green card holder, refugee, asylee)
  • 2+ years of financial market research experience
  • Keen interest in learning about credit markets
  • Ability to model and manage large data sets
  • Advanced coding skills, including strong Python experience
  • Proficient Excel skills with attention to detail and high standards in data quality
  • Ability and willingness to integrate new technologies, including generative AI, to create an increasingly sophisticated research product with data-driven analysis.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, track record of collaboration with team
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines

We'd love to see:

  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
  • Data visualization skills (PowerBI, Tableau, QSEN)
  • CFA designation and/or MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience
