Job Description

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 2 full-time Board Certified Oncology Physicians to provide necessary oncology services to Buffalo VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.

Job Summary: Oncology Physicians must provide services necessary to perform onsite General Oncology services to the veteran community located at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. Oncology Physicians are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals.

Duties:

• Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting.
• Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consults from primary care and other services for outpatient oncology consultations.
• Obtain medical history, conduct physical examinations, order, and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients.
• Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned such as peer review and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations.
• Provide oncology on-call services as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
• Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine Medical Oncology Board
• Must have an active Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Health Association
• Minimum of 1 year of Oncology experience
• Must have Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
• Be able to provide at least 3 professional references

Schedule:

• Standard Coverage Days. Provide physician coverage during standard business hours for three (3) days per week.

o Weekly Coverage Hours: From 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on each assigned day, totaling twenty-four (24) hours per week.

• On-Call Coverage Weeks. Provide on-call physician coverage for seventeen (17) weeks per calendar year.

o Weekly Coverage Hours: For each assigned week, on-call coverage for all hours outside standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), totaling one hundred twenty-eight (128) hours per week shall be provided.
