Job Summary Energo is seeking an experienced Boiler Mechanic to join our mechanical services team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience assembling sectional cast-iron boilers, performing steam fitting, and installing and modifying boiler piping systems in residential and commercial buildings. Responsibilities Cast-Iron Boiler Assembly - Assemble sectional cast-iron boilers in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Install push nipples, gaskets, and other required assembly components.
- Properly align, draw together, and seal boiler sections using the appropriate tools and procedures.
- Assist with boiler removals, replacements, positioning, leveling, and installation.
Steam Fitting and Boiler Piping - Install, modify, and repair steam and hot-water boiler piping systems.
- Fabricate, measure, cut, thread, fit, and install black steel pipe and fittings.
- Install and connect steam headers, supply and return piping, risers, and boiler connections.
- Install and replace steam traps, valves, strainers, vents, unions, flanges, and other piping components.
- Perform steam piping repairs, leak corrections, and piping modifications.
- Understand steam distribution, condensate return systems, and proper piping arrangements.
- Assist with boiler piping upgrades and mechanical room renovations.
General Mechanical Work - Read and follow boiler installation drawings, piping layouts, and manufacturer specifications.
- Work with other mechanics and field personnel to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
- Follow applicable NYC codes, safety procedures, and job-site requirements.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
