Bridge Estimator - Self-Perform

Our client, a self-performing bridge contractor, is looking for a Bridge Estimator to join its team in the Cleveland, OH area. The ideal candidate understands how self-performed bridge work is built, including structural concrete, bridge decks, superstructures, and substructures, and can turn that knowledge into accurate, competitive bids.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids for bridge and heavy civil projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications
• Price self-performed work, including structural concrete, decks, superstructures, and substructures
• Develop labor, equipment, and material costs and production rates
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Review bid documents, addenda, and contract requirements
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
• Support the turnover of awarded projects to the operations team

Qualifications

• Estimating experience in bridge or heavy civil construction
• Knowledge of self-perform bridge work: structural concrete, bridge decks, superstructures, and substructures
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
• Experience with public agency or DOT bid work is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
