Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Structural Engineer (NBIS, FHWA/NHI Certified) – DOT InfrastructureLocation: Rocky Hill, CT (On-site)Salary: $125,000–$190,000 + Performance Bonus + Sign-On Bonus ($5K–$10K)Why Join Garg Consulting Services, Inc.At Garg Consulting Services, Inc., you won't be one of hundreds of inspectors-you'll be a key leader on high-visibility DOT bridge inspection programs across the Northeast.Compared to larger firms, our Bridge Inspection Team Leaders:Have direct access to leadership and decision-makingTake ownership of inspection programs-not just assignmentsWork closely with State DOT clients and project stakeholdersExperience faster career progression and PE supportPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader / Structural Engineer to lead NBIS-compliant bridge inspections for state DOT and transportation infrastructure projects.This role includes managing and performing routine, in-depth, fracture critical, tunnel, and ancillary structure inspections in accordance with NBIS (National Bridge Inspection Standards) and FHWA guidelines, while leading field teams and ensuring high-quality deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise bridge inspection teams on State DOT and public infrastructure projectsPerform and oversee NBIS-compliant bridge inspectionsConduct structural condition assessmentsPrepare and review inspection reportsCoordinate with DOT agencies and internal teamsEnsure compliance with safety and regulatory standardsUtilize specialized equipment such as snooper trucks, bucket trucks, rope access, and confined space proceduresRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringEIT required; PE preferred (CT PE strongly preferred)5+ years of NBIS bridge inspection experienceNBIS-qualified Team LeaderFHWA/NHI training (NHI 130055, 130078, tunnel and ancillary)Technical SkillsNon-Destructive Testing (NDT)Load ratings and structural analysisAASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) preferredMicroStation and/or AutoCADInspection reporting systemsCompensation & BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance401(k) with company matchPTO and paid holidaysProfessional development and PE supportGym reimbursementSign-on bonus up to $10,000Equal Opportunity EmployerGarg Consulting Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
