Duties Description The available position is within SFC's Special Projects team. The Analyst will support the team's work tracking federal policy and budget developments that impact New York State and local governments, researching emerging policy issues, and developing policy solutions for various topics. This role includes interdisciplinary coverage, requiring the Analyst to research and analyze policy in areas such as transportation, childcare, healthcare, local government, economic development, taxes, and economics. The Analyst will report to the Deputy Secretary for Special Projects.
Minimum Qualifications • Candidates must have a demonstrated interest in public policy and should possess a Masters Degree (or be near completion) in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field and/or a Doctorate Degree (or near completion) in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree in conjunction with extensive State Budgetary or Legislative Finance experience may be considered as a substitute for an advanced degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Comments Salary range is $65,000 to $75,000, commensurate with education and experience.
This is a full-time (In Person) position located in Albany, New York with a Monday through Friday schedule that includes extended hours and some weekends during legislative session. (January-June).
